The Competition Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina has fined premium sports broadcaster Sport Klub a total of BAM 250,000 for abuse of its dominant position, following a complaint filed by telecommunications operator BH Telecom. It was established that Romania-based United Media Distribution, through its representative Sport Klub Sarajevo, abused the dominant position in terms of limiting the distribution of sports channels with high-quality football content to the detriment of BH Telecom users.
This was done deliberately by delaying and without signing a contract on the distribution of the Sport Klub channel with BH Telecom. The regulator found that during the negotiations the company continuously imposed additional conditions that were not prescribed by its general conditions for the provision of services.
